주심유황참숯가마
I was so taken aback that I won't be visiting again. They made an announcement saying that from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., only men are allowed to sit in front of the charcoal fire. This was never mentioned at the time of payment, and while I was using the charcoal room, they suddenly announced that women had to leave the warming area, which was unbelievable. The system is first-come, first-served whenever a seat opens, and there isn't even a separate time designated for women. I've been to many charcoal saunas, but this is the first time I've experienced something this absurd. I will never come back. This is so absurd that I won't be visiting again. They announced that only men can sit in front of the charcoal fire from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. They didn't tell me this in advance when I paid, and they suddenly announced that women should leave the warming area while I was using the charcoal kiln. It's absurd. It's a first-come, first-served system where you just sit when a space opens up, but there's no designated time for women to use it. This is the first time I've encountered such an absurd situation in all my years at the charcoal kiln. I'll never come back.
I really wanted to go to a charcoal kiln, so I looked for one and found one near my mom's house. There aren't many places like this, so I'm grateful they even exist. The facilities are old. I was surprised by the sheer number of people even on weekdays. I probably shouldn't come on weekends or holidays. The open-air bath was unique and fragrant because it was made with wood vinegar, but it was temporarily closed on my second visit. As of the end of November 2023, it's open from 6 AM to 1 PM. The charcoal kiln provides free charcoal, so you can grill fish, meat, rice cakes, sweet potatoes, potatoes, sausages, and more. I overcooked the sweet potato, but it was delicious. I brought some water kimchi and it was delicious. It's delicious. Bringing food is prohibited, but most people bring their own food. I'm not sure about the restaurant yet, but the concession stand is maintaining its previous prices to keep up with inflation. Buy 10 tickets and get a 10,000 won discount.
A place that proudly stood its ground while countless bathhouses went out of business due to COVID-19. Now, it is packed with customers. It is the go-to spot for sauna enthusiasts who have nowhere else to go nearby. Honestly, there is no other place like it. Thanks to that, the two scrubbers are working very hard. To be honest, there isn't even a proper place to park on weekends. The water is decent, but I honestly don't know if the outdoor wood vinegar bath is any good. Is wood vinegar really good water?
I really like this place. The charcoal kiln itself is rare around Seoul, but what makes it even more appealing is the mokcho liquid bath. As far as I know, this is the only charcoal kiln near Seoul that has mokcho liquid bath. If not, you have to go all the way to Yulam Hot Springs. The only downside to the mokcho liquid bath here is that it's so incredibly hot that sometimes it's impossible to get in. I wish they'd lower the temperature a bit.
It was my first visit, and the water was good. The charcoal kiln was divided into three levels (flower room, high temperature, medium temperature) and a health room, allowing me to experience the heat in various ways. I also enjoyed being able to directly observe the charcoal fire and feel the heat. After the treatment, I was able to sleep well and feel refreshed the next day. ^^
