It's also known as Myeongsa Shipri Beach due to its 10-ri stretch of sand. Among the eight scenic spots of Seonyudo—Myeongsa Shipri, Seonyu Sunset, Pyeongsa Nakan, Mangju Falls, Jangja Fish Flower, Woryeong Maple Leaves, Samdo Gwibeom, and Musan Sibong Peaks—this beach is by far the most beautiful. The vast expanse of glassy white silica sand hugs Mangju Peak, creating a breathtaking view. Even at 100 meters, the water only reaches waist-deep, making it safe for families to enjoy the water. The islands of the Gogunsan Archipelago are surrounded by breakwaters, preventing high waves. The abundant fishery offers opportunities for fishing, and scuba diving offers breathtaking underwater views. Chilsan Fishing Ground has long been renowned for its croaker and anchovy catches. The island boasts a unique structure, with sand dunes created by the waves connecting the main island to smaller islets. One side of the embankment is a white sandy beach, while the other is a tidal flat, with the sandy side serving as a swimming beach. Seonyudo, Munyeodo, Jangjado, and Daejangdo are connected by arched suspension bridges, allowing visitors to explore the islands on foot or by bicycle from any of the islands. Daejangdo, in particular, boasts thousands of privately owned stone statues and bonsai trees. The sunrise and sunset at Mangjubong Peak are also spectacular. Seonyudo Island, with its beaches, boasts a wealth of attractions, including the Eight Scenic Views of Seonyu, Lion Rock, Dongnimmun Rock, bizarre rock formations, Mangju Falls, Turtle Rock, Jangja Halmae Rock, Jangja Halbae Rock, Soeko Rock, and a cormorant habitat. The surrounding islands are connected by bridges, offering visitors a variety of experiences, making it a perfect tourist destination. The ferry ride from Gunsan Passenger Terminal to Seonyudo takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The island offers various amenities and clean guesthouses offering accommodations.

This is a place where the sunset is absolutely beautiful. I have visited several times, and every time I go, I am able to witness a moving sunset, making it a truly special place in my memory. If you visit with friends or your partner, you can capture atmospheric and stunning photos that will last a lifetime. Since there are many restaurants nearby, it is a good idea to have a meal here if you are traveling through the Gogunsan Archipelago. In particular, if you are wondering what to eat on Seonyudo, I recommend the grilled flatfish. The large, savory fish fillets are a real rice thief. The parking area is spacious and the restrooms are well-equipped, so I didn't feel any significant inconvenience, and the surroundings felt clean. If you want to welcome the sunset over the West Sea but are unsure of a location, I recommend a trip to Seonyudo that includes a visit to the Gogunsan Archipelago.

This was my first visit, and the scenery was beautiful, and there weren't many people, so it was a great place to swim and play with the kids. Lifeguards were always on duty, and the showers and restrooms weren't bad either. I plan to visit again. Just looking at the photos, it feels like I'm in a foreign country.

A few years ago, when I came here on a family trip, I took a boat to get there, but since the bridge was built, I went to Seonyudo by car. I was in a rush to get there at sunset, so I didn't get to capture the sunset on camera, but I had a nice, quiet time.

Here... it's complicated and parking is difficult. Paid parking is easy, but even with free parking, it's still a long way to the beach, so think carefully.
