Sodeungseom Island

Sodeung Island, a small, uninhabited island floating in the pristine waters of Deuknyang Bay, is renowned as a sunrise spot and a mysterious island with a sea route. Fantastic Sunrise: The red sun rising behind the small island, nestled in a pine forest, is a stunning sight, making it a beloved photo spot for photographers. Mysterious Sea Route (Moses' Miracle): Twice a day, at low tide, a 200-meter-long boardwalk (sea route) from Nampo Village to Sodeung Island is revealed, allowing visitors to walk there. A poignant legend: The island's name derives from the ancient practice of lighting a small light (sodeung) on the island to pray for the safe return of her husband, who had gone fishing. At the entrance to the island stands a statue of a grandmother praying for her husband's well-being. Parking & Admission: There is a parking lot and restrooms in front of the village, and admission is free. Nearby Attractions: It's a great place to visit in conjunction with Jeongnamjin Observatory, Jeongnamjin Marine Fishing Park, and Cheongwansan Mountain. Specialties: We recommend enjoying Jangheung Samhap (Korean beef, razor clams, and shiitake mushrooms) together.

Sunrise spot on Sodeung Island, Yongsan-myeon, Jangheung-gun! I thought Jeongnamjin would be crowded, so I visited Sodeung Island, a nearby island. The crowds were similar, but the sunrise from Geumsan, Goheung, and the sight of Sodeung Island combined to create a spectacular sight. The name Sodeung Island, so named because fishermen would light lanterns and pray for their safe return, was particularly poignant.

A deck path surrounds Sodong Island, making it perfect for a stroll along the beach. You can enjoy a 270-degree view of the island, and sunrise is a spectacular sight. The deck path is also convenient for exploring.

It's small and pretty. It was nice to walk around for a while and get some fresh air. But since it was a place where a shaman ritual was held, I didn't know it was pretty, so I'm satisfied with just seeing it.

Oyster grilling is popular in winter. If you time your visit right, the tide will recede and you can walk to the island. The sunrise is also famous, attracting many photographers.
