Spa Lei, Seoul

It was a great experience for me. This is my first time, so to make sure I enjoy myself without being worried, therefore I choose Spa Lei as it's only for women. Firstly, at B1, I take off my shoe & place it in the locker. The locker key handed to the reception lady & I paid 20k won for the entrance fee. Then she gave me a locker key to keep my clothes + bags, & a bath rope plus 2 towels. I then went to B2 to find my locker & change. I find my way to the hot bath area, passed thru that is where you can book & do your body scrub. The lady will write down on a small whiteboard my locker no & time. There are 2 hot baths & 2 cold baths. I then go into the very hot hot bath until my turn for the body scrub. The 'Onnie' scrubbed me thoroughly. Then she asked me whether I nd a massage, she showed me a board with price & I chose aroma massage (body scrub+ aroma massage= 100k won). It's totally different from the aroma massage I had before. After shower & dried up myself, I lied down to the same bed where I got my body scrub, except this time the bed is dry. She covered me in very hot towels & then started pressing my body. After that, she started pouring the aroma oil on my body & massage. Yes, she poured!! Not a bit but lots!!! It's definitely something special & different 😁 BUT not the best massage I ever had. I later realize there are other types of massage available on different 3rd floor & B1 too. There's why not many people actually take up the massage at the body scrub area. I had my lunch on the 3rd floor, there's a cafe there. Quite a bit of salad for me alone & too spicy (I had acorn jelly = 15k won). Most of the sauna has been taken up & it's too hot for me, so I just wandered around & had a small cup of sikhye 4k won. I've spent a total of 139k won in Spa Lei. Oh, there's an outdoor bath on the 3rd floor too, but since it's raining, no one went out there.

It was interesting to experience traditional public spa, I liked sauna and pools, scrab but I am not sure about hygiene conditions at that place, private spa with individual treatment I enjoyed/ advice more. There are 2 massage areas 1 in a scrab area ( I do not advise it) - scrab was ok but massage was not enjoyable at all - it is just a lot of people there one after another and very rough massage, just waste of money, maybe on the second floor in special massage room it is better treatment. Scrab / massage area also seemed to be not hygienic, there was no proper cleaning between clients and you are lying on the same wet table as the previous clients and your hairs are brushed with the same hairbrush, so in my opinion it is better to try it in private spa. All in all you can try and enjoy this place if you are not picky about hygiene.

This was one of the better, cleaner jjimjilbangs I've been to in Seoul. We paid 22,000won for a 8-hour use, and was given a gown and two towels. Even though it was a weekday night (10pm) the baths were somewhat crowded and there was a queue for the scrub. Scrub was 40,000won and super thorough, would recommend. Good for people who have not experienced jjimjilbangs before as this facility is quite well-equipped, providing shampoo and soap, as well as basic skincare. Cleanliness was honestly not the best but manageable and far better than many neighbourhood saunas. Have a sikhye and some eggs for the full experience.

I had a nice cultural experience at the spa. The entry fee was 22k kwn, they give you a key for your shoe locker, and then you go to the official spa area. There were many plunge pools to choose from and I quite enjoyed my Korean Scrub, which was 40k kwn (paid in cash). I slept in their sleeping area, which was fine as I always bring noise-cancelling headphones due to my overall noise sensitivity. I have many tattoos, and I'm not white; I'm Puerto Rican. At no time was there any bad treatment from anyone there (customers or staff). I would 100% recommend this place and will be visiting again in the near future.

I loved my experience in this jjimjilbang so much that I easily spent the whole weekend here. I guarantee you’ll feel the same way that you’ll immediately want to go back the next day. They have good facilities, cozy and relaxing space, a restaurant that serves traditional Korean food and drinks. But the main thing I loved about it is it’s a female-only jjimjilbang (unlike other bathhouses in Seoul) which made me feel very comfortable, as a foreigner trying it for the first time. After a weekend here, I’ve never felt so refreshed, light, and relaxed in my life. 10/10 would highly recommend!
