Goose Pond Colony Resort
Had stayed at the Goose Pond cabins a couple of times many years ago. Thought we’d try the Lodge for a weekend stay. Well I guess like a lot of other places the resort has not aged well. Nothing terrible but not likely to use them again. Numerous little things that could have been better: the hot water was barely warm, the mattress was awful, there were maintenance workers using a table saw right outside our front door (one worker relieved himself at the end of the building as we were coming in), and finally the office staff wasn’t exactly accommodating. Check in was at 2:00 and we had a 12:30 tee time. Asked if we could pay for an early check in. They said “no” as they’d have to wait for the cleaning staff. I asked if our room was booked the night before our arrival. They refused to say. When we got there and through out the entire weekend the Lodge was 100% empty except for us. In other words they didn’t even attempt to be accommodating as far as letting us check in prior to our tee time. None of the Lodge rooms were reserved but they wouldn’t attempt to prep our reserved room ahead of time (day before). The location is great but much of the rest can definitely be improved.
Goose Pond Colony Resort is a hidden gem in Alabama! The golf course is fantastic, well-kept, fun, and challenging in all the right ways. The cozy lakefront cabins are perfect for relaxing on the screened in deck and the marina has everything you need if you’re bringing a boat. Add in the peaceful setting, and it’s the ideal spot whether you’re planning a family vacation or a couples getaway. We’ll definitely be back.
We were left without any clean linens the entire last day and night of the trip. We also were unable to get the bathtub to hold water even after maintenance came to repair it. It would be helpful if the cabin numbers were in both sides of the cabins as our family is large and we tend to get a large block and the cabins look alike.
The entire area is nice and very well kept clean. The nature is active and I look forward to seeing all the wild life on my early morning drives. This entire point of waterfront land has the most relaxed and laid back vibe within 20miles easily. Rare plus but I secretly love that you don't hear any road traffic over here!💪 …
This was our first time checking out this spot. It was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It's stroller friendly and offers great scenery The entire way. The only thing that I feel could be improved is the condition of parts of the paved walking trail but otherwise everything was perfect! We will definitely be back!
