Gaviota State Park
Nearly 3,000-acre park extending from the ocean to the mountains, with hiking, swimming & fishing.
Came with my beach chairs and my drone to Enjoy the property. $7 for a day pass. Had to leave by 7p aka sunset. This was enough time for me. Ample parking, restrooms available. I got to explore the area. The cool rock formations, which are close to the pier. The pier itself is nice to explore. You can’t go on it. Watching the train go over the bridge. Tables are right on the Sand for your convenience. Nice spot to relax and take in the beach/sunset. If your have time the wind caves are right in the area. Enjoy
This was such a fun place to explore and watch the golden hour. The pier is blocked off due to it being a hazard but it’s a perfect photo opp. Day pass is $10. Walking distance is 2 mins no steps to the beach. The beach needs to be raked cause the seaweed gnats are annoying. No rocks. It’s a small beach but enough room for everyone. It was a fun beach day playing in the water and watching the trains roll by.
Windy. Bring a jacket windbreaker is fine. But a heavy jacket for the nights. Windcaves are open to public be aware if safety. I’d say toddlers is a no go. Ten year olds and up. I brought my five year old carried him most of the way. But if you are reckless like me and especially if you have multiple kids keep speacial care. There’s extremely high drops into thick coastal brush
Incredible Park. Campsite is tight but you're pretty much right on the beach you'll hear the ocean all night You won't hear the 101 and I highly recommend the wind caves ... For about two and a half mile round trip. If you do a hammock in June then consider a rain fly or even putting a canopy over the hammocks and bring a stand there's not enough trees.
Absolutely beautiful campground with fire pits and benches. Lots of restrooms and a day use parking lot. Beautiful beach in a cover under the railroad trestle. Amazing beach views from the campground. The fishing is great as well , lot's of kayak fisherman launching from shore . And lots of surf fishing from shore. Highly recommend this place 👍👍
