Hayward Japanese Gardens

Admittedly, it's not a sprawling botanical garden like some of its more famous counterparts, and its modest size might be overlooked by a casual passerby. But to walk past it would be a mistake, because once you step through its gates, the entire atmosphere changes. The sound of a gentle waterfall immediately soothes the senses, and the vibrant colors of the koi swimming in the pond are a delight to watch. The perfectly placed red bridges and traditional stone lanterns create a serene and photogenic landscape. As most Japanese gardens, this one too is typical. Paved paths meander around the long rectangular garden. It boasts two ponds and a mock tea house and two gazebos. A very comfortable garden to sit and take in the tranquility of the moment. You could easily sown an hour here but a quick walk through should take about 15 minutes. Of course no pets, food and drinks allowed within garden.

This is a beautiful cute little Japanese Garden hidden in the city. There's a side free parking next to the theatre and senior. We came to check it out and it was so hot. I wish they had more shades from the trees and the pond was more clear to see the kois. I would say this is a cute date area! This Japanese Garden is free entrance and parking compared to San Francisco/San Jose.

This place is hidden inside a City that most people haven't heard of. But if you're from Hayward, you know how beautiful this place is. This is a must-visit when you're around Hayward. They have limited street parking. Take an hour or two to walk around and enjoy this hand-carved garden. This an amazing spot to take photos and spend a quiet time with friends and family.

small and quaint and very well organized! i liked how peaceful it was compared to other japanese gardens in the area / other states. yeah it's smaller than others but because it's smaller it's more calm and peaceful and generally cleaner :) a great place to just lounge around and read if you want a quiet space to chill!
