The Spa at Terranea
Life has been a roller coaster lately and my wife and I were trying to figure out what to do to decompress and we were recommended a day at the spa at Terranea. We would pass by the Terranea whenever we hike in Palos Verdes but we have never been so we decided that this would be a great opportunity to check it out. Upon arrival at the spa we were immediately greeted by their staff and were taken care of with phenomenal customer service. You get the feeling that everyone that works there is happy to be there which makes the overall experience that much better. Being that it was our first time we were both sent off to a receive a tour of our areas. In the men’s section they have a jacuzzi, cold plunge, sauna, steam room, fire place, quiet place and snacks along with it. Having the availability of the cold plunge was a huge plus for me as I’ve been wanting to use it lately. After spending time utilizing the pools and hot rooms my wife and I enjoyed reading and having one of their salads with their beautiful view of the coast. Perfect fresh meal for the hot sunny day, too. They have a heated pool which was nice to dip into after laying out too long. We were going to check out their fitness center but didn’t get the chance too. We’ve heard good things about it so we will make sure to check it out next time. At the end of the night my wife and I met up in the shared quiet area upstairs and watched the sunset as we sipped on their complimentary tea. We then sat by the fireplace and shared our experiences with each other and I must say this was the perfect way to reset and I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you to Kevin Lee, Tyler Monroy, and your team for providing us with a great experience and stellar customer service. 10/10 recommend !
I had a beautiful birthday planned here with my aunt and best friend and absolutely loved the atmosphere, amenities, and the cocktail and lunch menu. Everything about the setting felt special and relaxing. The three of us booked massages, and I chose a hot stone massage. Unfortunately, for the price, I was pretty underwhelmed with my experience especially after hearing my aunt and best friend rave about how amazing their massages were. My therapist spent a lot of time walking around the room, grabbing hot stones, and adjusting a very squeaky chair rather than actively massaging. The stones were repeatedly bumped against my elbow, and you could hear and feel it each time, which took me out of the experience. While the stones were warm, there was very little actual massage or pressure. I had mentioned at the start that I was sore from working out and asked if she could focus on tension and knots, but it felt more like she was just going through the motions. I truly wish I had the same experience my aunt and best friend did, as theirs sounded wonderful. Everything else about the day was lovely I just left feeling disappointed with my birthday massage.
This place is magical! They have sound bath, yoga studio, fitness center, a big heated pool, fireplace, cafes (whatever cuisine you’re in the mood for they have a variety), sauna, steam room, showers, lockers, quiet room with snacks and teas!! All these are facing the ocean. The fitness center also is superb. I go to Equinox and they even have machines targeting different muscle groups and that are so elite. The gym has snacks and hydration and towels. Seriously i cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were all so attentive and knowledgeable about the place. Kudos to Kevin Lee and his team for making our girls spa day so easy to book and being so accommodating and their excellent customer service. We will be back for sure!!! And will invite all of our coworkers this time :) 100/10 would recommend!!!!
I have had many therapeutic massages over the years and although they are often quite nice, they never really leave me feeling as though my pain has been alleviated in any meaningful way. That is, until I went to Maria at Terranea Spa & Resort. Not only was she able to remark on my "trouble spots" unprompted but she then proceeded to provide the only truly therapeutic massage I've ever had. Old injuries, exacerbated by time and use, seemed like something I would simply have to learn to live with. But, under Maria's expert guidance and care, I not only left actually feeling better but with a renewed belief in the power of therapeutic massage. If you have not booked with Maria - you are missing out. I will be back for sure - worth every penny!
Magnificent service from the people at “The Spa” of Terranea Resort in California. My girlfriend and I had a blast during our “Ocean Prelude” treatment. This experience was like no other and you can’t really duplicate it either. The sound of the waves will never be forgotten. Olena and Daniel both gave us top tier treatment and we want to acknowledge that. Very patient, courteous and fun. Not many things are worth the price of admission these days but that massage and experience was worth every penny. Thank you to both Olena and Daniel we appreciate them. Also want to point out the great hospitality from all the other staff as well. Everything was perfect. Thanks Christon & Lorraine
