That’s wonderful! Travertine Hot Springs is a beautiful, mineral-rich place with geothermal healing properties — and your 20-minute foot or leg soak is a great way to receive benefits without overwhelming your system. Here’s a detailed breakdown for you: ⸻ ✅ Pros of Travertine Hot Springs 1. Rich in Minerals • Contains calcium, magnesium, sulfur, and silica, which are great for: • Joint pain relief • Muscle relaxation • Skin rejuvenation • Nerve calming 2. Alkalizing & Anti-inflammatory • Soaking helps reduce acidity in tissues and calm inflammation — especially helpful for any lingering joint, menstrual, or autoimmune-related tension. 3. Improved Circulation to Lower Limbs • Foot/leg soaking increases blood flow, which may help with: • Cracked heels • Cold extremities • Lymphatic drainage 4. Spiritual & Emotional Relief • The natural setting and minerals (especially sulfur and lithium traces) can produce a feeling of mental lightness, grounding, or even mild euphoria. ⸻ ⚠️ Cons or Considerations 1. Sulfur Can Be Drying or Irritating • If you’re sensitive or have cracked skin/lips, limit exposure or rinse gently afterward. 2. Temperature May Vary • Some pools can be hotter than others. Test with your hand or foot first — don’t go in if it feels scalding. 3. Natural Bacteria • These are wild, undeveloped pools. Avoid putting your face in the water or soaking any open cuts or wounds. • If your immune system is sensitive, keep soaking to feet or legs only. 4. Hydration Needs Are Higher • You lose minerals through sweat. Be sure to: • Drink your mineral water mix (with Celtic salt, lime, potassium, 40,000 Volts) before and after soaking. • Bring at least one 20oz bottle per soak. ⸻ 🕒 Ideal Soaking Time • Feet/legs only: 20–25 minutes is perfect. • If water is very hot or sulfur is strong: Limit to 15–18 minutes. • Do not submerge full body today unless you feel super hydrated and well-rested — better to go slow. ⸻ ✨ Optional Ritual If you feel like it, Travertine is a great place to set intentions or practice a quick grounding breath: • Breathe in: “I soften into trust.” • Breathe out: “I release what no longer serves.”

It's a place where water vapor rises, not only because of the surrounding scenery where the snow is piled up, but the temperature of the water is high, so I blocked the waterway flowing into towels and stones and made it a desolate place. It's right to preserve nature as it is, and if the temperature of the water is hot, you don't have to go to a hot spring. Why do you block the waterway and change the environment to the beautiful nature? It's a natural hot spring water with a very good temperature for hot springs, and it's a bedrock leach that has sulfur but is mixed with a lot of lime. The float looks very dirty by blocking the waterway, but it's good ingredients for the body. If you lean on the wall where the hot spring water is flowing in, you will get burned, so be careful. I took wine and sat on a hot spring mule and took a sit bath, drinking wine and enjoying nature. Highly recommended, but it will be difficult to visit for a few days after it snows.

Found this place on the map as we were driving from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe and thought it would be really really cool stop. Pictures from years ago are deceiving…we went July 2024 and there are only three little Hot Springs to the right of the bathrooms up the hill and that was all that we found. We walked all around the entreats looking for more. Go to the 3 pools & walk back the way you came to save yourself a long walk for nothing. All of them were super hot. One was bearable enough to get in for a little bit, big enough for 2-3 people. They were beautiful along with a great view! Not busy for a mid Friday summer afternoon. A couple was leaving when we got there & as we were getting to our car another couple was searching for the hot springs. Short dirt road to get there off the Main street. Worth a quick stop!

Travertine tile, come to find out, is exclusively from hot springs lime build up. It's more porous then marble and only comes in earthtones. Because it stains easily travertine tile is normally used only in bathrooms. They harvest travertine at this location. The hot springs were plenty hot on the one side of the hill but was a little cooler (it was a cold day). The tubs haven't been maintained much and had a lot of slime and particles. It took about 15 minutes to swish all that up and help it out of tub and it was much better. Bring a scrub brush! The loop trail was easily navigated and there were some spectacular rock formations and colors. There was a steady stream of people but they were all kind. So we all just got naked and soaked! Very therapeutic!

We visited the Travertine Hot Springs, it was more hyped up than it actually was. There were a few small tubs along the trail some were full of people and some werent as warm as others. The views were absolutely stunning though. The loop trail is a low impact loop thats a little over half mile. We did the loop trail and went down to the last tubs. We visited late September so it wasnt too warm outside, and chances of rain so the sky made the perfect backdrop for photos. It seemed as if more people were there for a photo shoot than to get in the tubs. We had kids with us and they were able to do the loop trail without difficulty. There are some restrooms in the parking lot but no other services are available.
