Resorts At Pooler

I rarely write reviews especially painful and unpleasant ones. However if you are considering this facility please be advised and reconsider.. My husbands' dementia was worsening he was there a week when... ..I walked into his room it was dirty and in chaos, sheets dirty, no soap, hand towels, urinated clothing in a pile in the closet, his bed was fallen to the floor , the toilet did not work, I had a fall in his room ,from some spill they had not cleaned up, he slid out of the wheel chair twice , rarely did anyone ever answer the phone when they did I was transferred back to the nurses station when again rarely was there an answer. Weekend staffing was so lacking that when I got there Saturday I could not find one person on the unit-no one in the hall-when I went to find then bring him the water had fallen alone in his room. They "lost" his glasses 2 pairs of pants, a shirt , 3 polo shirts, a carved frog he loved, a stuffed bear and a hand made blanket to help with his fidgeting. The last and most egregious act of incompetence was when I found a new placement and they "forgot" to discharge him with his meds. That night ,at the new facility ,they called me and EMS and 2 policemen were there as he went psychotic -without meds for 12 hours- I am still left shaken and heartbroken. Not just for my husband but what I witnessed there -all the vulnerable and helpless elderly...Why cant we do better as a society???!!! No one knew where the head office was or who owned these properties!! I found out wrote to all of them ...no response.

What followed was a remarkable ten-month journey from complete dependence to regaining my independence. The **physical therapy** I received was instrumental. It was challenging, and there were times I lacked motivation, but the **staff at Resorts at Pooler were truly phenomenal**. The therapists, along with the entire team, provided incredible support and encouragement. They knew when to push me and celebrated every small victory, which was crucial to my recovery. Their dedication and expertise truly got me back on my feet. The food was adequate and consistently met my dietary needs, though the focus of my stay was undoubtedly on my recovery. I am immensely grateful for the comprehensive care I received at Resorts at Pooler. I would wholeheartedly **recommend this facility** to anyone in need of dedicated and effective rehabilitation services.

After much prayer and trying to find a long term facility for my sister in law. We deceived to go with The Resort’s of Pooler after looking them up on google and seeing the reviews was not what we wanted, but everyone have an opinion ( good or bad). I can say that once we got there things was way better than the reviews. You just can’t put your family member in a facility and don’t visit them make sure you visit and learn and get to know the staff. I can personal say the staff were incredibly very attentive and kind. We are grateful for everything they have done and doing for our loved one. Thank you to the nurses, aides, social worker, therapy staff and nutrition staff. Thank you to a few and can name them all or remember their name: Melissa DON, Asst. DON, Trina, Ms. Quincy, Karen, Shannon, Alicia, Renee, Angle, Wendy and all the staff on A and B Halls. I want to especially thank my sister in law housemate. Again to The Resorts at Pooler Staff THANK YOU for all you are do for all the residents their.

UPDATE: I received a call back only because of this review & was rudely told off by the medical director because my mother is bariatric and told she doesn’t “have to explain anything to me” when I asked if my mother lost weight would she be a eligible patient and the medical reason for the lack of willingness to help. Another grown woman yelling at someone looking for help is a repulsive way to conduct yourself personally let alone a business based on helping people. Thankful now that we won’t do business with them. Gave true inside scoop on the character of people running this business. 🩷🙏 I have been trying to get ahold of someone to discuss a transfer of care for my mother to their facility from the one she is at now. NO ONE has made any form of return of communication in an urgent matter going on for my mother. I have left 5 voicemails and sent an email... I don't know why it is listed on the website for 24/7 admissions, but it is CLEARLY not true.

I’m going to begin with a sincere apology to the Resorts at Pooler for my misguided initial opinions during my mother’s first weekend at your facility. The Resorts at Pooler is an exceptionally well run, clean, religiously maintained nursing and rehabilitation facility. It is staffed with some of the most professional health care workers and administrators that I have ever encountered. Throughout my mother's stay, the nursing and rehabilitation staff demonstrated unwavering dedication and compassion. Their expertise and genuine concern for her well-being were evident in every interaction. The personalized care plans and regular updates on her progress provided us with immense comfort and reassurance. I am truly grateful for the exceptional care and support our family received from The Resorts at Pooler. Each member of the Resorts at Pooler team has reason to take pride in their contributions.
