Float Therapy is a GO! On Saturday afternoon (11/22/25), we visited the McDonough spa and received a completely informative tour from Tamika. Observing the premises firsthand alleviated my initial apprehension regarding floating alone in a pod. Tamika provided a comprehensive explanation of the entire process and answered all my many questions. I found the environment impressive and subsequently decided to schedule an appointment for the following day. Upon arriving 30 minutes early on Sunday (11/23/25) as recommended, we were welcomed by Mike, who was very courteous and hospitable. After Mike introduced us to the facility, Tamika joined us once again (YAY), and we were also introduced to Jai, who guided us through the remainder of our appointment. Jai was kind and was sure to ask if we had any questions before we started our float sessions. We entered our individual pod suite where most of the relaxation occurred. The procedure is straightforward: cleanse before entering the pod, put your ear plugs in, get in, enjoy the spa-like music that plays within the pod, and utilize the intercom for assistance if necessary. A gentle reminder via a soft-spoken voice is given five minutes prior to the session's conclusion. Afterwards, you shower, get dressed, and use the Prep Room, which is well-equipped except for a comb and brush. The experience concludes in the Oasis Room with oxygen therapy, tea, and refreshments. At the oxygen bar, Tamika graciously helped us get hooked up to be able to receive the fragrance of our choice and her and Mike made us tea! Everyone was super nice from the tour and the actual appointment. Overall, this was an exceptional experience, and we are strongly considering the option of a monthly membership.
My friend gifted me a float. She assured me it would be an opportunity to relax, feel (physically) better. Over the past few years, my stress level has increased leading to some physical issues (shoulders, back and knees). Stress = I am the caretaker to two elderly (independent/hard headed) women, have a family of my own and a full time job. The pain in my back has become debilitating, causing me to change things in my life to compensate. So I knew I had to try something new. This was a nice addition to my physical therapy treatment. Trust me, anything that will help me sleep and reduce my pain, I am willing to try. Now, the True Rest Spa. I found the spa (McDonough location) to be extremely clean. They provide towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They have everything from a blow dryer to bands for your hair. The staff was extremely informative, explaining the expectations and rules. For an hour, I was submerged/floating in slightly warm water filled with magnesium/epsom salt. I had no issues floating. There was music and some light (for the beginning) before cutting it off and floating away. When the session was completed, I was offered a cup of herbal tea and a complimentary oxygen treatment. If you asked when I left, how did I feel, I wouldn’t necessarily be able to answer. However, the next day I did notice a decrease or reduction in my pain level (at least by 50%). I was moving and felt a lot better. In conclusion, this is something that I would try again just to make sure the results are consistent. **The location offers other spa treatments as well.
We had an absolutely incredible experience at True REST Float Spa in McDonough. From the moment we walked in, everything felt calm, clean, and professionally run. The atmosphere instantly puts you at ease — it’s the kind of place where stress just melts away. But what truly sets this location apart is Lee, the owner. Lee goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcomed, informed, and comfortable. You can tell he genuinely cares about the experience and the well-being of everyone who walks through the door. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure we felt completely prepared before our float session. The float itself was next-level relaxation — pure mental reset. We left feeling refreshed, clear-headed, and physically lighter. If you’re dealing with stress, muscle tension, or just need time to reset mentally, this is the place to go. Huge respect to Lee for running such a top-tier establishment. McDonough is lucky to have this spot. Highly recommend — 10/10 experience. We'll definitely be back!
I had the most incredible experience at the float spa! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and beautifully designed to help you completely unwind. The float session itself was deeply relaxing I left feeling refreshed, clear-headed, and genuinely recharged. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was Katelyn . She was absolutely fantastic warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Her expertise and calming presence made a huge difference, and it’s clear she truly cares about her clients’ well-being. I can’t recommend this float spa enough, and I’ll definitely be back. If you have the chance to book with katelyn, do it you’re in amazing hands!
My son wanted to try a float for the first time, for his birthday. He found True Rest in McDonough and I made an appointment for him. The staff was very accomadating while making the appointment and answered all my questions. From the moment we went in, we felt very welcomed. Kalia was so helpful and kind to me and my son. He loved his float. He said it was very relaxing. While I waited she offered me tea and Oxygen therapy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Jay was also checking up on us and very nice. I had a very nice conversation with the owner, Kelly, and was very pleased with how kind and pleasant she was with our stressful year. Facility was very clean and inviting. We will definitely be back.
