I’ve been searching for creative and empowering ways to jumpstart my wellness journey, and Kiln was everything I didn’t know I needed! I’m not a strong swimmer and I hate being hot, so I showed up super anxious but determined to try something new. Then came Bridget — kind, knowledgeable, and the ultimate hype woman! She was patient, encouraging, and made the whole experience fun, empowering, and totally doable. I’ll be honest, after not seeing many larger bodies in the sauna, I wasn’t sure if it was something I could do. But Bridget immediately put me at ease. I climbed the ladder without issue and even felt confident knowing I could swim to shore if I wanted another exit. She set the perfect vibe from start to finish, from the music to the custom aromatherapy blends, creating an atmosphere that was both relaxing and energizing. I left feeling grounded, confident, and completely obsessed with Kiln (and Bridget!). They would definitely benefit from showing more diversity in their marketing and social media presence, and from offering multiple towel sizes to make the experience even more inclusive. But overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. When we showed up, I really didn’t know where to go so I called and she directed us via phone. When you arrive, she gives the safety briefing and reminds you to listen to your body and talks about how the next hour will flow. Then she allows everybody to change and into the sauna. After about 10 minutes, she came in and did this aromatics which intensified the heat, but also smelled fantastic and felt effervescent on the skin. Then we exited the sauna and did a cold plunge and there was literally ice in the lake. it was freezing, but so invigorating. Went back into the sauna, and she did a few more cycles of the aromatics. Jumping in the lake got easier and easier than more times I did it, but it was still icy. When we left, we were on cloud nine it’s a huge rush highly recommend going for all the health benefits, but wow, what an experience.
My son and I recently had the pleasure of trying out Kiln Floating Sauna. It was an incredible experience! Docked at Gordon Lodge, this brand new sauna is nothing short of luxurious. Zoe, the personable entrepreneur and owner/operator, impressively custom designed the floating sauna herself. An unexpected part of our experience was aromatherapy which added a lovely touch to our relaxation. We enjoyed several round trips between the sauna and plunges into Lake Michigan. Kiln Floating Sauna is a fantastic addition to Door County. I highly recommend giving it a try. Whether you're looking to unwind or have fun with family or friends, this is an experience you’ll enjoy.
I am fairly new to the Nordic-style sauna world, and I cannot say enough positive things about my two experiences at Kiln. The setting is pure Door County magic. The lake feels so crisp and refreshing. The sauna itself is an elevated and relaxing space. I felt immense benefits from my sessions. Furthermore, the staff made sure our experience as guests went above and beyond. Bridget was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our session fun and memorable. I won’t hesitate to venture back to Kiln Sauna.
Had an awesome sauna + cold plunge experience right on Navy Pier. The sauna was spotless, the cold plunge water was incredibly refreshing, and everything felt thoughtfully set up. The owner was on-site and clearly takes a lot of pride in the experience — all the amenities were top-notch and made it feel welcoming and well-run. Such a unique and relaxing spot in downtown Chicago. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to reset and recharge.
