SplashZone at Corrine J. Rose Park
My daughter and I have been coming here for a couple years. We spend all our spare time here, at the Waukegan beach, or at Hurricane Harbor. This place is a gem and all the staff are respectful and very nice. I have never had a bad experience here, but if you are a helicopter parent, don’t bring your child here during the busy hours because it gets pretty busy, or stay with your child while they play. Use your discretion. But this is not due to the facility, this is due to being a busy crowd of kids and that applies to anywhere you go where a lot of children are present. It really depends on the vibe and the kids. It’s really not that bad because the lift guards get a handle of it, but helicopter parents might disagree. 😂
Okay, at first I was pretty skeptical about this place since it’s in Waukegan, and prior to them rebuilding the park, this area had a bad wrap.. BUT I’m giving it 5 stars!! To begin, the staff is super nice and respectful. The changing rooms/bathrooms are really clean!! The splash pad is clean, the chairs are in great condition, several shady areas, concessions and vending machines. I will absolutely be returning!! I actually like this place better than Hunt Club for my 2 year old because each area is gated, I don’t have to worry about him running off and possibly falling into the pool. If you want the splash pad only, it’s gated off from the slides so you can let the littles run around. Vice versa.
This is an awesome waterpark for children. My only concern on Thursday, July 27th is that the concession stand closed down before the waterpark closed. My nephew waited to purchase a snack after enjoying the day there. He was bummed, leaving friends behind, but he felt better because he was promised ice cream. The person there was rude and short when she stated that they were closed and the drawer was all counted. I even offered to pay with exact change. I did not understand how the park was still open and the concession stand was closed, even though it appeared open. It didn't make sense.
This place is amazing. My family loved it they all had fun. Great place for the little ones too. It's like a playground but with water running down the slides, water cannons, sprinklers everywhere. There are seating areas and locker room, plus a concession area too if you get hungry. I love taking my kids to the pools, but I feel this place is safer from them drowning in the deep areas you don't want your kids in. Friendly life guards are around for your safety and your kids safety. Will definitely be taking my family back several times. If you have time I recommend to check it out.
Everything was okay until one of the guards pissed me off with his inappropriate mouth. Not sure of his first name last name is Brown I continued to hear him say the B word racial slurs along with other profanity My 5 yr old daughter kept coming to me telling me all the horrible things this boy was saying to her & others. I asked for a supervisor no one was there I’m really upset. This kid ruined my day with this nonsense. He shouldn’t be a guard with a mouth like that.
