The Vulcan Room is a fantastic new spa in Crystal Lake offering private sauna rooms and a cold plunge tub. The space is brand new as of February 14, 2026, and since Nicole has only been in the space for a few days, I’d encourage everyone to be patient as she works out the initial "new business" kinks. The Experience Each private room features a sauna large enough to comfortably seat two people and includes Red Light Therapy. The rooms are thoughtfully equipped with: * A bench and side table for personal belongings. * Fresh towels and a floor mat inside the sauna. * Refreshing cucumber-mint body spray. * A large pitcher of cold water and chilled towels. One of the rooms features the cold plunge tub. It is absolutely freezing, but so worth it! My recommendation: dip in for about 10 seconds, step out for two minutes, and then go back in. It helps ease the shock of the cold water significantly. Pro-Tips for Your Visit * What to Bring: I suggest bringing a gym bag with an extra set of loose-fitting clothes, fresh undergarments, and flip-flops. You might also want a robe or extra towel in case you need to step out to the restroom. * Storage: There aren't hooks for hanging clothes or towels yet, so the gym bag helps keep things organized. * Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before your session to prevent nausea or dehydration. Overall, this was an amazing experience run by a friendly, welcoming staff. I’m already planning my next visit!

The Vulcan Room is such a wonderful and serene place! I’ve been twice and both times have been relaxing and rejuvenating. Nicole is an excellent owner who truly cares about her clients. The space is always pristine. The rooms are set up nicely and have everything you need — towels, a towel robe, cold towel if you’re doing the sauna, purified water and infrared glasses. The cold plunge and infrared sauna are deeply relaxing and exceptionally tranquil. I highly recommend coming here if you’re looking to add to your wellness and self-care routines. You won’t be disappointed!

The Vulcan Room was an amazing experience. I truly enjoyed my time in the infrared sauna and even added the red light therapy for an extra boost. Being someone who is constantly active I’m sore 90% of the time. This helped me completely eliminate the pain not to mention completely relaxed me and melted the stress away. The owner Nicole was extremely welcoming as well as knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning 10/10!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The space was welcoming, calm, and immaculately clean. I felt genuinely taken care of—the accommodations were so thoughtful and made everything comfortable. The customer service was top-tier: friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing, high-quality experience.

The moment I enter the building I relax and enjoy the quiet calm atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and spa like. My special treat is Nicole’s signature cold towels with her special scent!! Nicole is very knowledgeable and is well connected with the wellness community in Crystal Lake. Go check out her packages to become rejuvenated!!
