My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was so relaxing and wonderful. We have done saunas in Korea and want to do one in Japan, but we’ve avoided US spas/saunas because they tend to be more expensive while offering significantly less. When we saw this local business run by a Tibetan-American family we allowed ourselves to get our hopes up! And it definitely did not disappoint. Everything was clean and well prepared. There was a good variety of options for relaxing and spaces for cooling off in between the hot options. The minerals and bath soak weren’t irritating and none of the aromatics were overwhelming. We also forgot a few items and the owner was so incredibly accommodating for getting them back. We will definitely be back. ❤️
Came here with my friend to unwind after a long and stressful work month. And I am trying to figure out when I can go back! The sauna and hot tub stayed the perfect temperature the whole time we were there. The salt cave was peaceful, and the sauna was great. The whole ambiance there is calming within itself. We used all the amenities and even had time to do some simple yoga on the porch. The fruit and tea provided was also a very great touch because it was refreshing to snack on in between the different places. The bathhouse is also on top of a hill and super secluded so it’s quiet and just so calming. I really can’t recommend anyone seeing this to treat yourself to two hours!!
Jalu Bathhouse is a treasure just outside Lawrence. From the moment we got out of our car, we were surrounded by a space feels intentional and grounding. The cedar tub, sauna, cold plunge, herbal tub, and Himalayan salt cave create the perfect balance of calm and rejuvenation. We especially loved that each booking gives you the entire bathhouse privately. It’s rare to find that kind of quiet luxury. Every detail, from the amenities to the design, invites you to slow down and truly unwind. We left feeling lighter, clearer, and completely restored. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, beautiful, and private wellness experience, Jalu Bathhouse is a must-visit.
Just found this lovely gem and traveled from Emporia just to check it out. We were stunned! The beauty of the forested area (we saw a bald eagle while relaxing in the outside garden) was beyond measure. The mineral hot tub was my favorite but all the areas were amazing and calming. I was impressed with the cleanliness and kindness of the staff. The tea and fruit was absolutely lovely. If you're thinking about going, definitely make the time for it, you won't be disappointed. Also took home some wonderful incense and tea so the gift shop was an awesome bonus!
We had a wonderful experience tonight at Jalu. It was a truly unlike anything we have ever done before. Following the guide recommended by a gracious host, we felt relaxed, invigorated and calm. The views of Kansas prairie, listening to birds and the wind blowing makes you really feel like you’re on a vacation. Everything was very clean as well. We will be going back, we’d like to try in the colder months when it’s darker outside. 10/10 recommend!
