I stopped by on my way to Lake Charles during my getaway in the week of Thanksgiving. It is on the roadside off I-10, nice building with the lake just in the back so you can walk along. Not many people inside at the time. Two ladies at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Another staff member (a young girl but I forgot to ask for her name) volunteered to take photos for me with a lovely alligator statue. I’d take the opportunity of Thanksgiving to thank them👍Bought a few souvenirs - wherever I visit I always grab a local mug and a pair of local cards to play back home🤗

My husband and I stopped by today . Two ladies greeted us with a big smile they made us feel like they were there just for us. They answered our questions and even offered us a pistachio cupcake and it was so good I asked where they got it from and they said its kind far to drive and she handed me the rest of the pack. Sweet ladies we need more people like them around. Thank you Debbie and Kristen. 🤗

Visited in April, 2018. Very helpful people and lots of pamphlets for the area. If you ask at the from, they have state maps in a drawer. Free coffee and a small gift shop are on the center as well. A short walk outside will take you to a Louisiana sign and then an enclosure that has some small alligators to look at. Makes for a nice stop.

The Lake Charles Visitor Center offers a hot and sunny environment, which may be appealing to those seeking warm weather. However, it seems to lack exciting activities and can be considered somewhat boring for visitors. Additionally, the beach in the area is described as just average or "okay" without any standout features or attractions.

I am so glad we stopped here. The view is gorgeous! The staff at the center were very welcoming and helpful. I unfortunately forgot the names of the two women who helped us find a great hotel room. The center is decorated beautifully. There was a great selection of high quality souvenirs. We loved our visit.
