Astraea Wellness Spa

For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a day trip to Portland Maine. While researching “what to do” I stumbled upon Astraea spa and I’m so glad I did. I booked a meditation and massage service. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Coco who has such a warm, inviting and comforting spirit. I started with an hour meditation. The weighted blanket, weighted eye mask and vibrating recliner put me in such a relaxed and zen state. What a perfect way to prepare for the 90 minute massage. James, the masseur, was great. He asked for my problem areas and immediately went to work. I have never felt so relaxed and nurtured. The spa is clean, warm and definitely all about wellness. I will definitely be back! Also thanks to Giancarlo for giving me a spa tour and answering my many questions.

The hotel attached is beautiful and the people were all super nice but the spa has no locker room or showers. You can rent one of two sauna rooms for an hour and shower there after your treatment for $100/hr but availability is limited. I had a massage before flying out and it was pretty uncomfortable to leave sweaty and oily from my massage to fly for the next 4 hours. A heads up would have been nice when I booked it since they knew about my travel schedule and going straight to the airport.

Came up here for a long weekend and stayed at the hotel next-door so I scheduled a massage in a private sauna. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From scheduling to the services to check out, everything was seamless. The overall spa experience was five out of five. The amenities were absolutely pristine, the masseuses were kind and skilled, and the infrared sauna suite was luxurious. Looking forward to returning!

My best friend & I enjoyed massages on our girls weekend while we stayed at the Longfellow Hotel. It was hands down one of the best massages I have ever had. Mel was my massage therapist & she made sure to do a thorough consultation with me to see where I needed the most attention. She has magic hands! I left there feeling better than ever. I hope to book with her again next time. I'm in town.

Had the most amazing two hour private sauna session at Astraea! We felt so welcomed the moment we walked in. The space was beautiful and relaxing. Obsessed with the cozy robes, zucchini bread and tea selection. Loved the customizable LED lights in the sauna— we circled through all of the different colors. Everything was spotless and the people were so kind. We will be back!
