Floatus Salt Float Center
Awesome place to relax! The float session was amazing and they walk you through every step to make sure you’re comfortable. You can play your own music/meditations for the first 10 min and then the room gets black. However you have the option to turn lights back on. I turned the starry sky back on half way thru and loved it but turned it off soon as the complete darkness helped my relaxation most. I was very at home and was surprised by the “little things” that made a huge impact, including providing headrests, robes, lotion, blow dryers, water, coffee, tea and snacks. I didn’t eat or drink much before coming so being able to rehydrate without having to go somewhere else was great. I tried the PMF acoustic therapy as well and loved it! I will definitely be getting a membership and coming back on a consistent basis!
This was a really cool experience! I really felt relaxed and at peace when I was floating. My session was an hour and it was nice and quiet. There are buttons in the chamber where you can turn on music and lights and apparently later on, there will be bluetooth connectivity so that you can choose your own music. I brought my own swim cap and they provided ear plugs. I don’t think I properly put on my cap because my hair ended up getting wet and definitely went home after that so that I could wash out the salt water. I am not claustrophobic but I thought once I closed the door to the chamber that I would feel weird but it’s actually really spacious, so I felt comfortable. The owners were also really nice and provided me with a lot of information. Definitely want to come back once they have body sculpting to try it.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND OR MONEY AT THIS TRASH PLACE!! My wife called and sent an email regarding a couples gift card she paid for and had questions trying to book it online because she was unable to book it and she hasn’t received a response. Yesterday I called and left a message. They called me back but didn’t leave a message. I was unable to pick up the phone. I called again an hour later and left another message, no response. I called again today and left a message and no response. I told my wife to just dispute the charge since they have NOT been responsive. Tried to support a black business and get no response. Smfh. Very disappointed and unprofessional.
I am changing this review to a 3. I would have rated my second experience as a 5! The staff was fantastic and I really enjoyed the float! However I am averaging that with my first experience below: We had an appointment for yesterday at 10am. No one called us to tell us the appointment was cancelled! When me got to Floatus in Laurel, there was a sign on the door “Closed for Maintenance ~M~ “. We tried calling a few times and left a message. No one answered or called us back.
This was a great experience for someone with fear of swimming and floating. I was able to immerse myself in an environment that allowed me to relax without outside influence, and all the thoughts in my head floated away. If you are looking to learn how to swim or at least Learn how to float and just simply relax and allow your body to rest then this is a place to really check out. It’s a great form of therapy and it’s also black owned.
