Carson Hot Springs

We’ve been coming here consistently for the past 2–3 years, and it has become a place we always look forward to as a family. I originally heard about it from my amazing hairstylist, and ever since that first visit, we’ve been hooked. We love having the option of the private indoor rooms when we want quiet rest and relaxation, but lately we’ve been spending more time in the outdoor pools—and they’ve been wonderful. The warm, calming water has been such a great environment for my youngest, who has actually been learning to swim on her own here. It’s been really special to watch. The staff is young, friendly, and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the guests is the same—most people seem to be there for peaceful quiet time or meaningful family time, which we really appreciate. It always feels respectful and relaxed. We’re even considering purchasing the annual package because we’ve noticed we come at least once a month—it’s clearly become part of our routine. I highly recommend trying both the indoor private rooms and the outdoor pools, as they each offer a very different (and equally enjoyable) experience. This place has truly become a favorite for our family 💙

Perfect post-railroad museum stop! The contrast of 30° weather and 50 people happily soaking in the hot springs was great. The pools were clean, warm, and restorative. Sassafras Grill food was fantastic, too! A must-do. Year-Round Enjoyment: The facility is popular even in freezing temperatures (around 30°F, as you noted) because the pools are maintained between 98°F and 104°F, making the cold air refreshing. Natural Water: The resort uses natural geothermal water that flows at a constant 121°F from the source and is cooled down for the pools. The water is mineral-rich and chemical-free, a draw for many visitors seeking a natural soaking experience. Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint: Located right next door, Sassafras is a popular spot offering unique and delicious food, making the hot springs a complete destination for relaxation and dining.

If you’re looking for a soak that’s actually down-home and laid-back instead of some pretentious, over-the-top resort, this is the spot. It’s super unpretentious and has that classic, rustic feel that’s hard to find these days. Plus, the price is actually reasonable, so you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off just to relax. The big heads-up: get here early. If you’re looking for a quiet, meditative vibe, you’ll lose it once the midday crowd shows up and the place gets packed. Hit it right when they open if you want the peace and quiet; otherwise, be ready for a much busier social scene. Total gem if you time it right.

On a complete whim I ended up in Carson City this past Monday. While walking thru adorable downtown with my coffee, I happen to look up amd see a banner for the Carson Hot Springs. Being a bit of hotspring lover, adventurer I hopped right in my car, stopped at fish for a 2 dollar suit amd pair of shorts and the rest was history. 30 bucks gets you your own private soaking room and access to the outdoor pools and sauna. I felt I was put there for the very reason of discovering Carson got springs and I can't wait to hopefully find myself in that very spot again someday soon!

This place is absolutely awesome—I loved every minute of it. The private room is a must if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, offering a perfect space to relax and unwind. The outdoor pool is set at just the right temperature, making it incredibly soothing and comfortable. I definitely plan to visit as often as I can, not only for the relaxing atmosphere but also for the health benefits that come with soaking in the natural hot springs. It’s truly a rejuvenating experience.
