I had to end my float at the Cary location within 10 minutes because the float room smelled intensely like a locker room mixed with strong pool chemical fumes. Within ~10–15 minutes I was developing a migraine. Not a common occurrence for me, but as a chemist I recognized what was happening. I told the front desk about the fumes, and asked what they use to sanitize. They said they use hydrogen peroxide, bromine, and a pH solution. This is fine in itself, the issue is that the rooms aren’t ventilated well enough and the migraine I experienced is a tell-tale symptom of halogen disinfectant byproducts building up due to poor ventilation. That does not lend to a “healing” experience, rather a chemically-laden one, that can cause people to feel ill. It concerns me that someone may mistakenly label nausea or a headache to the experience of floating in this case. A properly managed (ventilated) float room shouldn’t smell like chemicals of any kind. If you’re sensitive to strong odors (I usually am not), or especially have respiratory sensitivity, I’d ask about ventilation/air exchange in the float rooms before booking. For the safety of clients, management should evaluate ventilation in the float rooms at this location to ensure it’s adequate for the chemicals being used. The chemical by-products need an exit. If this is addressed, I would return. Staff are helpful and pleasant. They provided a full refund, and a genuine apology.
Nice, kind staff. Easy to schedule and reschedule . Instructions very clear. For the float, there are a few music options, and I would recommend mostly silence for the float, sometimes music gets too loud if your head gets close to the speakers. The room is clean, you have towels and ear plugs, a shower, shower products, and the float. Afterwards, you can go do a separate room to freshen up, use a restroom, use lotion, use a blow dryer, etc. The float itself is fairly peaceful, especially if you do your best to lie still. It's very easy to float on your back. An hour is a very long time in there so do your best to chill and take a nap. The oxygen bar is offered after with some tea or water. I didn't experience any positive feelings from oxygen. Went for the first time on Veteran's Day for the free float. Thanks.
This was any first time experiencing Float therapy. Daniel was super professional, calm, kind, and easy to communicate with. The facility was clean, pure, and calming. The experience itself was amazing. I needed every bit to check out of life’s reality and call my mind, body, and soul. I felt the toxins leaving my body. I was able to relax and breathe. It was a very private experience which I could appreciate. The oxygen bar was also appreciated and soothing. Also being able to journal at the end of it all, instead of being rushed out of the facility was so humbling and such a comfort. It allowed me to take in the full experience and prep to go back out into the world with more confidence, clarity, and peace.
Had my first soak and it was amazing! Along with being very clean the staff were very polite and helpful! Love that you're not rushed out the door after an appt!! Theres another room to finish up with qtips, lotion, and more; to include blow dryers (++ diffuser too for us curly girls ++) The oxygen bar was pleasant and relaxing. Considering how long you're there and the overall experience its a great price! Word of advice, don't go on an empty stomach. You become very aware of your body in float and you will feel it during and after. Will definitely be back!
This was my first float and it was amazing and relaxing. The facility was clean and had all supplies needed.. Shower shoes, towels, soap, deodorant, etc. The pod was very clean. You had the option of music or no music. The next float you select your own. Each pad had the option of soft light or darkness. I chose compete darkness. The water was warm. Each private room has a shower. Afterwards we had tea and sat at the oxygen bar. Also they offered journals, coloring for added relaxation
