TLDR: Terrible customer service, no attention to detail, and hidden costs. We will never use this company again or recommend them to anyone. Originally, we wanted to buy replacement fabric for our glider. We were told to bring the glider to them so they could measure it and they would order and send us the fabric so we could replace it ourselves. We were also told it would take only a few weeks to receive the fabric. Once we received the fabric, there was no way for us to replace it ourselves. So, we called Tubbies and were told “There’s no way you could replace it yourselves, you need a special tool for that. You need to bring it up to our store so we can do it.” We were not happy about this, as we live 2 hours away from Tubbies. But, we took the glider up to their store and was told right away “This won’t fit because it isn’t the correct size. We’ll reorder your fabric and install it for you.” After weeks, we finally get a call to pickup the glider. When we go to pick up the glider, we are charged an additional cost for labor, which we were never told about. A few weeks later, we have some patio chairs that need new fabric as well (ideally we would have went to another business, but there’s no other patio furniture stores nearby). We’re instructed to bring our chairs to the store. They measure the fabric, help us pick out a color, and we’re told it’ll be a few weeks until they receive the fabric and install it. Within a week, we are called saying they have our chairs ready to be picked up. It seemed odd since our glider took months to complete, so we confirmed with them that all the work was done. They said it was, so a family member went to pick up the chairs. When they got to the store, the employees loaded the chairs and they left. When they were almost home, we received a call from Tubbies, saying there was a mistake. They had not yet received or installed any fabric for our chairs, and they had mixed up our orders. Tubbies said they would pick up our chairs “the next time they are in our area”, which surprisingly hasn’t happened yet. We were just told it won’t be until the spring at the earliest. I would never recommend using this company for anything. The customer service is terrible.

We have been frequenting this establishment for many years. When we moved back to the area 13 years ago, we bought a Tropitone patio set from them. An expensive proposition, but Tubbies does not charge straight retail so the prices are pretty good. After about a year the surface on the table delaminated. They replaced it immediately, no questions asked. Now, 13 years later the springs on the chairs have gotten tired. I pretty much was resigned to spending a bundle on new chairs, but Bill the boss said we could order the parts. Amazing. A month later the parts came, an easy fix, and now when we sit in the chairs we aren't always looking at the sky. This is a serious place with terrific service as well as a mind-blowing inventory. We purchased a Big Green Egg from them last year, and they came all the way out in the country and assembled it for $50. What a bargain. If you want a place that stands behind their products, this is the place. Otherwise go to some box store and throw your stuff away after a few years when something goes wrong. As an aside, the owner of Tubbies also has a mattress place down the hill where we have purchased a TempurPedic mattress, and they were great to deal with. He also owns Klaban's, a local high-end furniture store with great prices that we have frequented, happily. Edit 8/13/2016: Not only did Boss Bill order the parts for our Tropitone chairs, but it turns out they were free! He found out that the chairs had a 15 year warranty. Amazing.

I am handicapped and getting to the hot tubs was not easy, but helped by Brian, and even though it was hot as Hades in there, we managed. Brian was wonderful. He answered our questions and tried to help us find the best hot tub for our needs. He never rushed us or pushed anything on us. I had spoken to Shane on the phone the day before and he was also very helpful. I would suggest bottled water for your customers, to off-set the extreme heat! When we get our landscaping done, we will be buying our hot tub at Tubby's, due to these two knowledgeable young men and the service they provided. As to the BAD review above...who walks into a store at closing and expects service.... sales people have lives too!

A few years ago I was in the market for a hot tub and had narrowed the search down to two companies-----Tubbies and Clearwater Swimming Pool Company. Unfortunately I chose the cheaper route (Clearwater) and I've had nothing but regrets ever since. You get what you pay for! Pay a little bit more and go with Tubbies. Their customer service will be well worth it.

Bought a beautiful quality outdoor furniture set. Bill couldn't have been more helpful in selecting pieces and colors. A hands on owner! He even came to set it up at our house. Don't hesitate buying here. A wonderful local State College business!
