WINTER REVIEW: I was so sad to give this a 3 star.... We were so excited to visit this establishment for a few days and get a dip in the hot springs. As you can see by the pictures the decor was so pretty and the extra little items they had. The temp. outside was about 42 so we couldn't wait to get into a nice cozy room. BOY were we surprised when we walked in at 3:30 into a FREEZING room. The temperature in the room was 62. In the handbook it stated the cabin will be set at 72 the day of your visit it was set at 62. We had to turn it up to 72. It took so long to warm up in there that we had to leave to get warm. Oh and there is baseboard heaters but it stated you are NOT allowed to use it. Now here's the kicker the night before we were to leave at 1:30 am (now mind you who is on their email at that time since you have to get up early to ck out) the email stated " With temperatures dropping, please feel free to supplement with baseboard heat if needed." ARE FREAKING KIDDING ME!! They work!!!! If we would've known that, we would have turn them on sooner since it was so cold we had to wear our coats and shoes until we went to bed that 1st day. Then never mind if you got up in the middle of the night.... YOU will FREEZE there's no heat in there.... OH wait there's a baseboard heater that we aren't allowed to use. The cabin mine room finally up to 72 by morning. So needless to say this romantic weekend was terrible at the cabin. I should've just book with an hotel at least I would've had heat! Sooo I your okay with not having heat in the winter then go for it... for the most part it was a clean place. It was dusty under the microwave and other places but all in all it looked very clean. I would probably recommend this place for warmer weather. I won't give it no thumbs up because I was so sad and disappointed for my husband surprised get away. What a let down!

The Ponderosa Cabin (Cabin #1) is a gem at Highland Meadows Resort. We stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed for a week. The cabin has everything you could ask for: a fully stocked kitchen, refrigerator and microwave, a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed and spacious closet, a roomy living room with a couch that doubles as a pullout bed, great shower, a beautiful, very quiet location, laundry (soap provided!) and wildlife (deer, turkeys, a rabbit or two) you can view out the front window. The bedroom has a sliding glass door to access fresh air and the rear of the cabin. The heating/cooling is very easy to operate. Two televisions (living space & bedroom) were excellent with many cable channel to choose from. The cabin comes with a hammock, picnic table, and barbecue. The host communicated with us exceptionally well, leaving snacks to nibble on upon arrival. The best thing we can say is that we were not wanting anything. We rate this property 20 stars.

This was our second stay at Highland meadows and found equally as enjoyab as our last visit the room and bathroom are completely updated with all the modern conveniences. We especially appreciated all the different coffee options. We made quick work of the snack basket too which is such a nice welcome gift. Thank you. I have only good things to say about the cabin. I love the views from the windows, the comfortable bed, the well sstocked kitchen and bath.....everything. The only thing I would add would be a full length mirror somewhere. Thank you so much for hosting us in this beautiful site.

We just happened to be in Hot Springs for the night and came across Highland Meadows Resort, and what a gem. The host Robyn was there to greet us and explain in detail all that was included in the cabin. The unit was spotless, and you could tell there was so much detail put into the layout to make it a very welcoming atmosphere, making the overall accommodations fantastic, and by the way, the views were awesome. They also recommended local eateries. Robyn and Brian were good conversationalists. We will be back!

Incredible views of the surroundings hills, hosts were very responsive, and the room was beautiful and clean. There was a large flock of wild turkeys that hung around the whole stay, which was very cool. It feels like you are out of town, but you are really only a two minute drive from downtown Hot Springs! I wish stays were cheaper, especially since we stayed at a slow time of the season, but the hosts seemed to be doing their best to make sure it was worth it. Definitely recommend for any couple.
