Hot Wells Hotel Ruins

Peaceful, relaxing , birds singing and letting your imagination dream. This is what I did when I visited this location. It's really peaceful l was able to just relax and take it in. I imagine all the different type of individuals that visited Hot Wells Springs and how it must have been way back in the day. A place that's just amazing I love the fact that my imagination was able to recreate what I believe took place there. This is such a great place for a picnic. Super clean location relaxing in the sun and just having a picnic would be a great opportunity to visit this place. After visiting this location just a few miles down the road are plenty of restaurants and shopping to do. Handicap parking and easy accessibility

I had read about this site opening up to the public and was curious to see this place. It's very peaceful to walk around the bathhouse and read about the history. The signs shares historical details that take you back in time. It had been a luxurious place back in the day and visited by famous people including Theodore Roosevelt. The parking is conveniently close and there appears to be restrooms also. Wish I had more time since there are trails to discover at the back.

Definitely a hidden gem. It's free and parking available which is also free. You can't go inside but walk around it and you can see some signs of the original swimming pool from the back. If you are visiting San Antonio I highly recommend to pay a visit. How often do you get to see an actual ruin of anything? It's also close to one of the 4 missions so you can visit both and get yourself a unique piece of history.

A hidden treasure. I love walking these grounds, particularly the native plant landscaped path on the far side of the ruins. A stop here should be included on any mission trail tour. Parking lot is safe and provides a nice access point to the river hiking and biking trails. I recommend going left to the bridge and dam.

Updated photos. This is one of my good favorite places to walk. I enjoy how clean and quiet it is. Sorry about the awful photos, they were quick snaps while leaving. I walk the dog here, often. Very peaceful.
