The Kura Door

I loved my experience with Kura Door yesterday! Shout out to Cosette (highly recommended for the Samurai Massage) and Alexis (highly recommended for facials in general) - these ladies made my day so relaxing and wonderful. This cute facility is tucked in the Avenues neighborhood and while there isn’t a ton of parking in the lot, it’s not too difficult to find a spot on the street within a reasonable walking distance. The staff was really nice and the facility was clean and sanitized - both big wins in my book. There are also lot of different offerings to be customized to your liking and you can spend time at the steam room or quiet rooms with light snacks, water, and tea options. I loved every minute here and can’t wait to go back!

The atmosphere of this place is great. The quality of massages has varied. One very disappointing thing - I booked with a specific massage therapist each time I went (who was well recommended by a friend). I received a completely different person both times and no one even addressed the issue. No big deal, I figured the therapist was out for an emergency. Nope - Unfortunately I ran into my scheduled therapist when I was about to be taken back to my appointment and she was doing other appointments. I don’t understand why they let me book with a specific therapist, then not follow through. This was especially unfortunate when my final prenatal massage was given to a seemingly brand new employee that did a very poor job.

It's been years since I've been back, but it was quite a beautiful experience. Unfortunately, their Steam room was not working. Tried to call quite a few times but never could get someone on the phone to see about if they're facilities, we're working. So we ended up going quite early to take advantage of what we thought was there. They still had their sauna but with such small waiting areas , it felt quite overwhelming to sit and wait while they were busy. We went here for our anniversary and really enjoyed the tea soaking experience. Our massages were phenomenal!

The Kura Door is my favorite place to go for a massage. I’ve brought friends with me as well, and it’s always a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the added amenities like slippers, a robe, locker room, shower, steam room, meditation room, sauna, and the tea available for clients all contribute to the overall experience. The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service and the peaceful environment. I love coming here to treat myself and relax.

I absolutely love the Kura Door. I have received wonderful treatments from Alexis for several years now and even though I have been living away for a few years now I always check her availability when I am in town. She is amazing and this spa is an experience that once you go you will know why it is one of Salt Lake Cities best kept secrets.
