Horeb Spring Park

A community, like this, that invests in the enrichment of their children and their families lifestyles is always impressive!! Having recently moved back to Milwaukee from a northern county we were thrilled to find this pool for a relaxing weekday activity. As a disabled single mom with a neurodivergent toddler I need to be wise about what I get involved in. This facility was so enjoyable and safe we will absolutely be back! My adult children have even asked to come with us next time! Being “non-residents” we paid $30 for entry and slide use for 3 kids and one adult. We paid at the door using cards or cash. The door opened at 6:15pm sharp. The facility is ran by about a dozen very well trained and professionally performing college aged people. Objectively, $30 was kinda heavy for an entry fee—BUT the lifeguards run this pool so smoothly knowing my kids are safe the entire time made it VERY much worth the price. One thing I noticed in particular was the patience and diligence of the young man at the bottom of the slides. My 8 year old has some physical limitations that cause some crazy landing at the bottom of the slides. This lifeguard simply stepped closer when he saw it was my daughter snd made sure that he was right there with his floatation device and made sure she could grab it to re-stabilize. Great job, kiddo!! If you’re planning a trip here be sure to call ahead and find out what time the open swim is, as they have swim lessons punctuating the day. If you have a kiddo into skateboarding be sure to bring their board and make time for that! Also, you could spend a good hour playing at the adjacent playground and picnic in the park or picnic area! Bathrooms and bubblers are installed right there, too! Whoever designed and created this facility is an asset that every county would benefit to work with. We were living north of here where the county invests very little into rec opportunities for families. The community there is beside the lake so they seem to assume that provides enough for the kids. BUT lake water is cold and requires immediate washing of anything it touches to prevent the fishy smell in hair and swim suits. Parents can’t relax because of the risk of drowning, especially with zero lifeguards.

Love this park! Great for the entire family! Nice playground area for small kids, skate park area for teens, nice shelter picnic area. At the pool the changing areas are well kept. There is a Family Changing Room and Handicap accessible areas which Is a huge plus for my family. There is a snack bar and designated food area. There are 2 large water slides ( not open on our last visit) lane swimming, and toddler gradual depth to about 3ft deep area. The children's area includes a few interactive sprinkler play areas, 1 Frog slide, and a waterfall mushroom play equipment. There is also a good amount of places to sit and lawn chairs surrounding the pool. *Life vests recommended for little and I experienced swimmers. (they have a sign at the check in on what types of Float devices are allowed.) We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

The only downside I feel is the daily admission. It has almost doubled since last year. Try taking a group of your kids, friends, family etc.... you can easily spend $50 even more if you visit the snack bar. Not everyone can afford the upfront cost or use the annual pass though it is much more affordable if you go at least 5 times in a season. It is only open to the public like 7hrs a day as well. Swim lessons are great as well!

We took our kids to the pool on the 4th of July and it was so much fun. After not being able to find parking at the other nearby pool, we ended up here, and I'm so glad we did. It was a nice, friendly crowd. My son enjoyed the slides for an additional fee. And the girls at the refreshment stand were awesome. They were nice, fast, and very efficient. I love that there were a lot of places to lounge. We will definitely go again.

Would be a nice park if trashy people didn't visit/ruin it. There are always homeless people or teens/young adults smoking weed in the pavilion. The skate park is nice. Location is nice. Playground is great.
