Nothing takes the chill off a Wisconsin winter day like sweating it out in a sauna! We got a group of friends together and came here after work on a Friday night, and it was such a relaxing experience, I felt like all the tension melted out of my body. I was concerned about being too cold while standing outside in between sessions, but it actually felt wonderfully refreshing to step out in the cool air for a few minutes. Convenient little changing hut with lockers is right next to the sauna, and there’s a cute little sitting area just outside where you can throw your coats too. We learned to go easy ladling the water - a little steam goes a long way! Very invigorating, we felt great the rest of the night, and I had the soundest sleep after. Really fun to go cool off with a cocktail from Zócalo after and hang out.

Visited Hot Spell yesterday at their new location, and wow what a great set up! We rented out both saunas for a group private and had a great time cycling through the two. It was fun to try both, and the perfect way to reset after Thanksgiving. We loved the river cold plunge tank and the shower next to the barrel sauna. It was so cold outside that the shower felt warm! One of the owners James was on hand to answer questions and guide the process. James is super friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed chatting with him. If you are looking for a traditional Nordic sauna experience in Milwaukee Hot Spell will exceed all expectations. You can’t beat the location either - Boone and Crockett is the perfect spot to grab a drink after your sauna.

A super unique service offered in a great setting. My wife and I spent an hour relaxing in this adorable, cedar, barrel sauna then cooled off with a cold beer after the session delivered right to the sauna door by the Zocalo Tavern. This is a great way to relax in a social setting. I look forward to visiting again soon, especially as the weather gets cooler.

I can’t say enough about how AMAZING this was! Not only is this a great place to relax and unwind, but it makes for a great experience you can’t find elsewhere in the Milwaukee area. Jamie, the owner, is incredible and so welcoming. I will definitely be going back!

Great experience. There are two wood fired hot saunas with an outdoor fire as well. You sweat in the sauna and then come out and stand around the fire while cooling off. And when you are ready, pop down and dunk in the lake for your cold plunge. Exhilarating.
